Mr. Brian Maloy has been named Superintendent of Schools for Deer Creek-Mackinaw CUSD No. 701. The Board of Education took action at their meeting held on November 19, 2024. Mr. Maloy is the twelfth superintendent since the consolidation of the district in 1949. Brian will assume responsibilities July 1, 2025, replacing Mr. Damon Hackett, who will be resigning to take a position as Superintendent of East Peoria Community High School District No. 309.
Mr. Maloy has served the last ten years as the K-12 Principal and then Assistant Superintendent at Chadwick-Milledgeville CUSD No. 399 and also brings with him over twenty years of experience in education, with fifteen of those being in administration. Brian graduated from Unity High School in Tolono, Illinois. He then went on to obtain a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Social Science with Teacher Certification from Eastern Illinois University. Mr. Maloy worked as a Social Science teacher at Champaign Central High School and Heritage High School while obtaining his Masters of Science Degree in Educational Administration from Eastern Illinois University. He also holds an Educational Specialist Certification from Eastern Illinois University. Throughout his professional career, Brian has also served as district transportation director, athletic director, coach, activity sponsor, and bus driver.

Our family is blessed to have the opportunity to join such an amazing school district and community.
