The doors and hardware have arrived and are being installed the week of July 21st.  Also this week, the grid for the acoustical tile has been installed in phase one and contractors will be dropping in the tiles.  All painting is to be completed by July 25th.   The elevator installation has begun.  All pipefitting will be completed for phase one by July 25th.  Contractors have established a permanent plan for supplying gas to the existing building and the kitchen for the heating season and cooking that will not interfere with phase two construction.

Science room renovations have been on standstill while plumbers waited for the arrival of chemical waste tanks.  They are now on site and will be installed the week of July 21st.  Once plumbing has been completed work can progress on gas piping, sprinkler systems, and HVAC (heating, ventilating, and air conditioning).

Kitchen work is proceeding nicely.  The huge oven hood has been installed.  Once the resin floor has been poured and cured, equipment will be brought in and installed.

Electricians have been working on back feeding the fire alarm system, which at one time ran through the 1914 building.  This has been a difficult task but is near completion.  During the first week in August, the fire alarm system will be programmed and tested.

HVAC roof top units will be set in place and connected on Wednesday, July 23rd.

The architect has submitted a “request for proposal” (RFP) to provide face brick on the now exposed east wall of the old gym.  The new building going into the site of the 1914 structure will not be three stories tall and we will need to seal what was once an interior wall.

Prior to opening phase one for student use, the Regional Office of Education will inspect the building and issue an Occupancy Permit.
