Dispensing of Medication

The dispensing of medication to students by school personnel is forbidden by State regulations.  Excess medication in the student’s possession and in the classroom can be very dangerous.  The following rules have been established in order to minimize the hazards of extra medication in the school.  If your child must take medication during the school day, please follow these guidelines:

  •      Send only the dosage required for one day.

  •      Be sure your child’s name, the proper dosage, and times of administering the medication are clearly marked.

  •      Instruct your child to bring the medication to the office.

  •      Complete the student medication form with all information requested on the form and have your child bring it to the school office.

  •      By law, phone calls cannot take the place of the student medication form.
